David Roy

Club Manager

David’s entry into golf club life was as a Greenkeeper in 1981, before the likes of ride-on mowers and metal woods transformed the game globally. His golfing life commenced at a time when Scots understood that a Niblick was a golf club and in an age when many of them used them. Moving from the sheds to become a Secretary well before the turn of the century, David is now the most experienced club manager in the Scottish golf industry and has been at the helm of the Society since 2005.

Elaine Johnson

Membership Secretary

As the first point of contact for all new members, Elaine excels at providing a warm introduction to the club. Her attention to detail and profound understanding of club life ensures that the members are always provided with the best service. As a golf enthusiast, Elaine has been thrilled to welcome the likes of Nancy Lopez, Suzanne Peterson and Katheryn Imrie to the club but prides herself on making sure everyone is provided with the same star treatment.

Amy Wood

Reservations Manager

Amy is a native of South Carolina but has been in Scotland long enough to pick up the local language. Her skills as a highly experienced office manager ensures that there is a fine polish applied to any golfing itinerary. She is also proud to administer the caddie service, which is consistently admired by members and visitors alike.

Yvonne Forgan

Reservations Secretary

As a long time member and past Ladies Champion, there is little about the club that Yvonne doesn’t know. Her local knowledge and love for the club makes her the perfect person to look after member and visitor bookings and her natural sense for hospitality helps provide the convivial atmosphere Crail is famous for.

Graeme Lennie

Head Professional

Graeme is the Society’s first and so far, only golf Pro. After starting his career as an Assistant Professional at Lundin Golf Club, he spent a time as a full-time tour player before joining the club in 1987. During his time on the Scottish Region Tartan Tour, Graeme won six times and is highly regarded as a coach. He is a keen and knowledgeable golf historian and has been a member of the British Golf Collectors Society since 1987. Amongst Graeme’s many contributions to the club is the fact that he was instrumental in signing up Gil Hanse to design the Craighead Links.

David Snodgrass

Assistant Professional

David’s calm demeanour and genial personality provides the perfect welcome for members and visitors. His talents as a coach have been harnessed to great effect with the Crail juniors, who are thriving through his leadership. The Pro Shop is the perfect environment for David, whose passion for the game of golf and for hospitality, shines through in every conversation.

Bob Meikle

Course Manager

Bob found his vocation when he started as an apprentice Greenkeeper at Crail in 1992 and has flourished at the club ever since. Presenting the courses in the best possible condition at all times, Bob has become recognised nationally for being a leader in the Greenkeeping industry, willing to embrace innovations and adopt the latest best practice. Often arriving at work before daylight and leaving after sunset, the club are fortunate to have such a talent in their ranks.
