St Andrews Preservation Co.

First Corporate Member for the Society

The Preservation Company has become the first ever corporate member of Crail Golfing Society. Based in St Andrews, The Preservation Company specialises in the repair and preservation of aged buildings throughout Scotland's central belt, as well as stretching out as far as Aberdeenshire and Dumfries.

"We are delighted to welcome such an appropriate corporate member as The Preservation Company," said Crail Golfing Society's new captain Pam Smith.  "The Society is 231 years old this year and has preserved itself over the centuries through a combination of careful maintenance and staying up to date.   We have just introduced a restricted corporate membership programme, so it's terrific to have the company on board so quickly."

The corporate membership includes the company having its name displayed near the first tee of Crail's older course, Balcomie Links, and an annual golf day.

"With many of our business contacts being keen golfers, we saw this membership offer as an ideal opportunity to combine business with pleasure," said Gavin White, the owner of The Preservation Company.

Mr White is a keen golfer himself, as are his two sons - one of whom plays on the golf team at his university in the USA.   He had almost 30 years experience in the preservation business before starting his company over six years ago and now employs  15 people.

"We specialise in treating all the many problems that can occur in older buildings, but I should stress that that properties don't need to be as old as Crail Golfing Society for us to help!"
